Immunisation Schedule for Baby (in Australia)



 
 
 
Birth
  • Hepatitis B
 
This vaccination will be given by one injection
2 months
 
  • Hepatitis B
  • Diptheria
  • Tetanus
  • Whooping cough
  • Haemophilus influenzae type b
  • Polio
  • Pneumoccocal disease
  • Rotavirus
 
Many of these vaccinations will be given in combined injections. Ask your doctor or child health nurse about how many injections your baby will be given.


4 months
 
  • Hepatitis B
  • Diptheria
  • Tetanus
  • Whooping cough
  • Haemophilus influenzae type b
  • Polio
  • Pneumoccocal disease
  • Rotavirus

6 months
 
  • Hepatitis B
  • Diptheria
  • Tetanus
  • Whooping cough
  • Haemophilus influenzae type b

This completes the course of vaccination for many of these diseases. Many of these vaccinations will be given in combined injections. Ask your doctor or child health nurse about how many injections your baby will be given.
12 months

  • Measles
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Meningococcal C
 
Some of these vaccinations will be given in combined injections. Ask your doctor or child health nurse about how many injections your baby will be given.

12 to 24 months
 
  • Hepatitis A
 
If your baby is an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander living in a high risk area she will be vaccinated against:
 
18 months
 
  • Chicken pox (varicella)
  • Measles
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  •  
This vaccination is given as one injection, called the MMRV.

18 to 24 months
 
  • Pneumococcal disease
  • Hepatitis A
  •  
If your baby is an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander living in a high risk area she will be vaccinated against:
 
4 years
  • Diptheria
  • Tetanus
  • Whooping cough
  • Polio
  •  
These vaccinations will be given in one combined injection.
